[00:00:29] Well, we... Yeah, sort of. We're not in first place. I don't think we deserve to be in first place. We have seven points. That's fine. Isn't that tied for like seven places? The top five teams. The top five teams have seven points.
[00:00:46] We're in the top seven right now, but we all share the same amount of points. Well, we are ahead of Miami if you look at it because Miami has a game. We have a game in hand so does everyone. Top seven clubs on the Eastern Conference.
[00:01:00] Miami, Montreal who showed the fuck up. That was awesome. Us, the Columbus crew. Great soccer team to ever wear yellow. The New York Red Bulls at number four, which way too early to get cocky, but that was my prediction. Top five for them. Four feels great.
[00:01:16] Toronto at number five, bit of surprise. Then you got DC and SINSEY rounding up the top seven. Is SINSEY good at soccer anymore? We were sort of talking with those on the discord about that last time that we did a live pod.
[00:01:36] I'm not sure that SINSEY is going to have teeth this year. I think Brandon Vasquez was not just somebody scoring goals for them. I liken it sort of to this. When Kucho was on the field, teams are not just scared.
[00:01:58] They're not just scared that he's going to score goals. They're scared that he's going to disrupt the six yard box. They're scared that he is going to get too close. And because of that, he's able to pull defenders really kind of
[00:02:14] like when he's not in position to score, but he's going to pull defenders because they're like, oh, it's Brandon Vasquez. They don't have that anymore. I don't think teams are even scared of FC Cincinnati. Have you noticed this? They're getting played.
[00:02:26] Not like they're the former supporter shield winners. They're getting played like a mid table to lower table team. They are. And this is not just shitting on SINSEY for the sake of SINSEY. We want SINSEY to be good unlike...
[00:02:39] We talked about this on this podcast so many times. You want your rivals to be incredible that way when you beat them, you're beating the best team, not what they're showing. But speaking of SINSEY last episode, we did have a... Did I give out the Vasquez pick?
[00:02:53] I think we talked about that on the last episode, and I was reminded of that. And then we hit that plus 240. We had a killer day yesterday. It's about time that we had been getting a bit unlucky in soccer. This week was back to normal,
[00:03:09] but we did have a Henestrosa goal worked in there at like plus four something and he came off what, 40, 50, 50th minute, something like that early. And then Russell Royal came on and did what he did. So we picked the wrong goal scorer there.
[00:03:25] We did hit Kampana in the Miami game, which obviously was always going to happen. We dropped that a little bit before that game, which felt good. So two out of three for any time goal scorer so far this year at plus 210 or plus 260
[00:03:39] and then plus 210 or not bad. Would like Henestrosa, but as a crew fan watching Russell Royal find the back, the net felt real nice. It did. We've been talking about his struggles and his struggles have not been, they've not been being in the right place.
[00:03:56] They have not been making the right runs. That hasn't been his mistakes. The things that are hard to coach, he's been executing well. It's that last, you know, really kind of like half inch on the ball that really makes a difference that he's needed to correct.
[00:04:12] This one was sick. If you watch the replays of this shot and his other shot where he was in the same spot but went to the other side of the goal, the knuckle that he puts on these balls is incredible. It's beautiful, which means to me,
[00:04:29] even if the goalkeeper gets the right direction and moves to it, low chance that they're going to be able to stop it. The knuckle that he has been putting on the balls from that angle are really impressive and we've got three of those exact shots.
[00:04:42] So this is kind of a, this is a from the training ground when they break away, where is Jason Russell Rowe kind of thing? This is not happenstance that he's been in the same spot doing the same shot that well. This is something that they work on.
[00:04:58] And he finally got that execution well. I even thought the second shot that he did later on in the game where he shot to the left side of the goal. I thought that was excellent as well. His positioning was good too.
[00:05:11] So really, really well deserved man of the match for him. And happy to see a J R R on the score sheet. Yeah, you love it. And then that late goal from Mo Farsi for him to break through felt really good. Patrick Schulte, he's standing on his head
[00:05:26] and then in Minnesota Montreal too. Goal score over there. A lot of goals coming from crew two players from prior season size, a lot of fun. So, and then just talking about the podcast picks and the straight bets. We obviously had the crew team total
[00:05:43] and the over one and a half in two separate plays. The two units Mac was the crew game, the match with since he over one and a half, which ended up being a two one all in the second half, which is wild.
[00:05:53] And then Miami team total over two, which they covered as well. And then we did the plus 126, which was crew team total Miami team total. And then yesterday during the discord, we had the man city Liverpool both in the score. And then we had in the Bundesliga,
[00:06:13] we had the over half to first half goals, the plus 139. Then we had a plus or minus 119. I've been messing with corners a lot Rudy. And I got pretty locked in one game didn't hit. It had six. We needed seven and they had two red cards,
[00:06:29] five first half corners and then two red cards and then no more corners. They didn't have a corner until stoppage time. So that was unfortunate, but everything else hit. We had the man city over one and a half.
[00:06:41] And then we had seven and a half corners in that game and a couple of totals, the minus 119. I can, I'm not going to read through all of them. We had a minus 119, 126 plus 139, the minus 137, which actually moved to minus 126, the two unit.
[00:06:55] We had the plus 210 on the Campana goal score. And then I just, I tried out some shots. Once I found out the messy and Suarez, we're not going to start. We did Robert Taylor and Campana to have a shot in the first half.
[00:07:09] Didn't matter if it was on target and then one shot on target, each which both of them obviously covered. They had more than one, but they covered that in the first half. So a plus 135 and plus 132, both those hit. That was a lot of fun.
[00:07:21] The 720 you got to love when it's first half too, because that just allows you to just enjoy the rest of exactly. And Campana got it pretty late in the first half like probably like the 38th minute or something like that. And it was just a little blooper too.
[00:07:34] It wasn't even like a hard shot on target, but it counts. The one that missed though, we got both teams to score in every game. There's four games that both teams scored the 720. It did not happen since he and DC, I just couldn't get done.
[00:07:47] Every other game was fine. And the thing that irks me the most is that I swapped out crew Chicago both teams to score. Cause I was like, don't put the crew into this play because you've already got them in other plays.
[00:07:57] And obviously since he or Chicago did score a goal. So that hurt, but it's a long shot. When you go one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, seven out of eight on those funny plays. I'm okay with that outcome.
[00:08:10] We missed an NBA play yesterday and we hit two. The NBA has been real fucking weird lately. So we've been, I've been laying off it a little bit, finding just finding deeper cuts in soccer. And we're going to focus,

[00:11:23] But on the flip side of that, I was at the game and was watching and was like, we need to savor this because when we're good, it can go away so fast and for so long. So I just enjoyed the intro to the game.
[00:11:33] And then that is where the joy stopped because and Joe won't mind if I tell the story. We decided, Joe decided to try to bring his two, his four year old and six year old to the game.
[00:11:42] Mind you, there was a lot of other children at the game. And I'm not sure if they just had bad times or not in front of us. But the second we got to the stadium, his kids decided I'm disinterested in this entire experience and it was cold.
[00:11:54] I'll give them that. But we made it to 20 minutes or so before I want to go home. We got some chicken nuggets, chicken nuggets weren't good enough. Some of the snacks weren't working. And we ended up leaving before half time.
[00:12:09] And I still have not seen a crew home goal in person this season. So I told Joel after we got home, I was like, if I have to not watch the games in person in order for us to win every game, like I'll take, I'll bite that bullet.
[00:12:22] But he's, he's not on the same and it's about him. I don't know. Maybe a mile. How far do you think it is a walk from? Yeah, right. I just need to skip all the games. Your place is just over a mile. Okay. So but like 1.1 maybe.
[00:12:35] So we're walking with the two kids. And as soon as we get out of the stadium, he decides he has to pee. Which we had just passed, you know, many bathrooms. And the other one just starts screaming at the top of his lungs and crying,
[00:12:46] I don't want to walk just over and over again on repeat. So as we're walking on the street, I don't want to walk. But he wants to go home. So Joel's trying to reason with him and let him know.
[00:12:55] Like if you want to go home, we have this how we do it. So after that, as his son's going to pee his pants. So we go into the woods. We find some woods for him to pee in.
[00:13:04] And he goes in and pulls his pants all the way down like a little kid does. And goes, I don't think you're supposed to do this. And I'm like now, now you have morals about peeing outside. I don't know if you know it.
[00:13:12] His kids for a while had like a P corner in their yard. And they were just like, this is where you pee. Somewhere between D4. Hey, nice. Yeah. You know, I was about having a designated P corner. Can I just put pause on this story?
[00:13:25] We know where you're at in the store. Yeah, it's not great. I had, I had growing up, we, um, we had this corner house. There was an alley behind our house, like a, like a gravel alley.
[00:13:38] And it ran for, you know, in between the houses for, for several streets. Um, and that's where the, the garbage trucks would come. They would come down the alley and then they would grab garbage trucks. And it was before everything was like green, whatever this was like back
[00:13:54] when it was like tin garbage cans with a, you know, like a stomp. Like that shit. Those actual garbage cans for our actual garbage. And, um, I always, there was this great spot to pee in the back of the alley.
[00:14:08] And so me and my neighbor friends, we would always just go. That's like where it was like our designated P spot. Um, until the old lady across the alley came and approached the children's mothers knocked on the doors of the homes and said,
[00:14:27] your boys are being indecent and urinating. And, and if, and if it continues, she's going to call the authorities. Oh no. So I just want to say give the kids a corner. Every kid should have a corner. Everyone should be able to pee outside.

[00:15:14] And we found one of those little carts. They have these cars that are like little bikes connected to like, what are those things called? Yeah. Everyone deserves a corner to pee in. So it's all quote. Um, what are those little things called?
[00:15:25] Like the little bike messenger guys with the little carts, whatever. And we paid them 20 bucks to take us like two blocks just so the kids would shut up. And then I watched the two goals at home. We won the game and I was fine with it, you know,
[00:15:35] so as long as that's the outcome, it's going to be expensive season tickets for me to not watch very expensive for you to not go. But I'd pay my season ticket price every season. Yeah. That meant that we want a cup like just to win every single year.
[00:15:51] I'm no problem with that whatsoever. I figure out what's going on. I'll be down with that real quick. We haven't talked about the West at all. Are we being too biased on the East? Nobody gives a shit. Well, I just want to, I want to,
[00:16:01] I want to just highlight a couple of things. It was a good weekend for soccer, a lot of goals. Yeah, we got which we said there's gonna be goals. We said that was going to warm up. We said it's going to ramp up.
[00:16:10] It's doing exactly what we said at United, wake up and our man. Dude, Yaka Maki's went the fuck off. Yaka Maki's. I mean he. It was like, it was like he read Caleb Porter's playbook and said, Oh, I know exactly what he's going to do.
[00:16:29] He was unstoppable that game. Absolutely fantastic play. And I mean, I'm not, it was phenomenal. It was a great game for Atlanta. Good in front of their home fans. Good to get everyone ramped back up. I like when Atlanta plays well. And so that was a fantastic game.
[00:16:46] He had a hat trick. I predicted he's going to be the golden boot winner. He is making me look good right now based on that performance against New England. Man, Caleb Porter struggling at the beginning of this season.
[00:16:58] Having had it in the struggle bus in the bottom of the table. I do not think he's going to stay there, but that was an exciting game. Portland timbers put to pass in YCFC FC. Is Portland is Portland redeeming themselves to you?
[00:17:13] You used to be a fan, a fan favorite, you know, a farewell, you know, sort of distant fan of Portland. How do you like in them right now? I am impressed the West, the top of the West is scoring goals. And I love that.
[00:17:27] We had, we had a Rick pig to score assist. That was a nice little plus two 10. Then I snuck in there for me. So good. And he actually scored twice. One of them was called off and they still two two. So the top three teams in the West,
[00:17:43] Portland, Minnesota LA Galaxy. Not what we foresaw specifically, but eight goals, six goals, six goals. Portland's doing work, dude. There's four or five players and I'm less right now with three more goals, five players with three or more. Pookie. That was another one.
[00:17:58] I had a anytime goal score for Pookie. And I was because I was like, he's overdue and his two goals was like plus 1800. He did that in the first half. Louis Morgan's finally showing up been 10 K with his three.
[00:18:10] So two of these guys did three in one game. Yackamaki's been been techie, but Messi has three in two games. Yolovic out of LA is really showing up. He's got three goals and then Anthony out of Portland, like you're talking about. So Portland has been putting in work.
[00:18:27] They have been a lot of fun to play. I hope they keep it up, dude, because their stadium is one of the most fun to watch games inside of and on television. It's pretty pretty. St. Louis at number four, Vancouver at number five.
[00:18:39] We all sought like six Colorado number seven in the playoffs currently, if it were to end today, they would be in the playoffs. Not a plan. LAFC number eight is LAFC broken. You asked this every time they don't win. You ask it every single time are they,
[00:19:00] but you asked it the season that they won. We need an answer. You asked it last year when they got all the way to like nine cups, you always keep asking, no, they're not dead. They're excellent. This will turn around. They are missing in my opinion.
[00:19:18] They are missing the, the fury and aggressiveness of Kelly and Acosta. I think that's their biggest miss right now in the midfield outside of obviously their talisman Carlos Vela. They're missing Kelly and Acosta. I think they could use him without having Vela right now.
[00:19:34] I think that's the, that would be something that, that they would say, oh, I regret losing him. I think that they played well against us. I think Chicago played well. I actually think that their biggest problem was Shaqiri giving the ball away too many times, including several
[00:19:50] opportunities that turned for shots on goal for us. So Shaqiri needs to get his shit together. His assist, by the way, it was not offside. This is an unpopular opinion with crew fans who were at the game, but what they did not see is that Marrera was
[00:20:07] holding them on side. Yeah. So it was a good pass from fury. It was an assist to the assist. It was a good goal. I don't even really think I would have done anything differently defensively there. I think we were okay. He just happened to be onside.
[00:20:27] It was Marrera, a half step behind of getting in line with his own men. Still good defensive around for us. Even though we had a goal slip past us, I feel like we had a good defense. Good day for the crew. Good soccer.
[00:20:43] Couple of shocks still, I think on both ends of the table. I think at the bottom of the table on both the east and west, I have some surprises there. Obviously seeing Orlando and Philly down in the bottom half in New England Revolution. Those are shocks to me.
[00:21:00] And then in the west, I think having Houston and Seattle at the bottom there is the biggest shocks there. Anything else you're surprised by? In Seattle being so bad. I'm a little bit surprised by that. But, hey, I'm trying to find all the numbers because our
[00:21:19] both teams score in total goals for the league just rebounded so much in the other direction. I just don't have all my shit dialed in. But back to what you're saying about the midfield and Shaqiri, we were prone to that as well.
[00:21:32] The midfield play in our game, if I had to pick up an area which it was lacking just from pure form, effectiveness, entertainment, everything, the midfield was really, really sloppy. So many turnovers, so many giveaways. Pretty poor buildup just all around. We got the result we wanted.
[00:21:48] I'm not like shitting on the team, but I watched Man City play Liverpool a couple of hours afterwards. And I was just like, Jesus Christ, dude. I think I even texted our group. I was like, not to like shit on the MLS,
[00:21:59] but watching the midfield play, like the balls that they were sending that were successful in the frequency in which they were doing that. Obviously when you have people like that on the field, it's insane. Like when Kevin De Bruyne is just like a guy out
[00:22:12] there, but the shit he's doing mixed with everybody else, even what's his name? Foden had a, he controlled the ball a lot more in that game. I'd like to see, Matan was missed is what I'm saying. Matan and Foden feel to me.
[00:22:26] I was going to say, yeah, that's where we're headed there. Matan was missed. Yeah. And I would like to see more Christian Ramirez. I watched him in warmups. Fuck it. I was like talking to the little dude and I was like, see that guy out there?
[00:22:37] I was like, he's really good. And he's like, yeah, I was like, watch this. His first rip in warmups just outside the box top right corner side of the net. And they were like, whoa, like the little kids were like so super soaking.
[00:22:47] And I was like, he's ready to go. And I was just about to bet on him. And his line was not available because he didn't play. I would have liked to see some of that. We got the result, but that midfield play felt rushed and black.
[00:23:01] It was a little bit rushed. And I don't actually want to give Chicago as much credit on that. I think that we were just off a little bit. It felt like, and I don't know, maybe Chicago was doing something to disrupt them that I was missing.
[00:23:16] But it just looked a little too rushed. Now they were playing pretty aggressive on us and I would say that they were trying to do what Liverpool does to Man City in that way, that they're trying to rush us on the ball because we want the ball.
[00:23:30] We want control. We want to we want possession. And the only way to disrupt that is to get in your face really quickly. And so they did a little bit of that. But to your point, there was there was a lack of clarity in the midfield.
[00:23:44] I actually didn't know who was running the midfield. Normally I know Nagby is running the midfield. It's clear to that. Normally I know that Aiden Morris is running the defense in midfield, which he did. He had a couple of errant passes.
[00:23:59] But can we just say that Aiden Morris was once again... Now this is two games in a row only a few days apart. He's playing 90 minutes, 90 minutes, 90 minutes. All three of those games only a few days apart. The fury at which he gets around the
[00:24:16] field, he makes up for almost any mistake that he ever makes. And that's save at the end. Oh, that's what's going to bring up on the line, on the line making that save. That kept us... That should have been equalizer. That's what got us the point. Two saves.
[00:24:36] Two saves. Put the foot out blocked it turned got a second deflection second block. Aiden Morris there's a guy called Josh Hart. He plays for the Knicks if you're a big NBA fan. He's got a lot of time and he's like he's playing 90 minutes and he's not
[00:24:51] a big scorer. He'll have his scores from time to time, but Aiden Morris feels kind of like the Josh Hart of our team. He's just always out there and always doing what it needs to. Josh Hart isn't the tallest, but he'll get like 55 rebounds a game.
[00:25:06] Exactly that number. And then he'll score six points games. He'll have 20. Most of the time he scores like eight points, but I have like 15 rebounds and assists. He's played several games for so far. They pulled them off, obviously, but like is there any sort of
[00:25:23] lingering something there that may have maybe hindering him? I here's here's my here's my fear. OK, my fear is that this is actually maybe the first time that we see his age maybe catching up. He played several games back to back. He's starting to get you got
[00:25:42] subbed out early this time. But I think we're just we're just seeing the legs there. Is what I'm I'm guessing. And so you when it's front loaded like this and we've got extra games and extra tournaments like this. These are the times where you
[00:25:59] need to in my opinion, what I think should have happened is I think maybe at halftime Matan should have come in and given Nagby arrest or start Matan and have Nagby come in in the second half to to sort of run point as captain on the field.
[00:26:18] So for me, this was maybe a substitution problem from Nancy Hill walk away and say, you know, we got the win and that's hard to argue with. But how we won was more of a grind more than it was pure display of, you know, outclassing them or
[00:26:36] out, you know, using tactics to outdo them. So this is something that I hope we won't see much more of Tim because this is the issue. We got our two goals at home. We got a win at home. We have been unbeaten in 17 straight home matches, 14
[00:26:53] wins, three draws in the last 17 at home as you were talking. I was going to build a live play because the Chelsea Newcastle game. I forgot to put that out. And as you were talking, they scored the second goal. It's one one the first half.
[00:27:10] I think that's what's due. So I had to meet somebody, but I can I got an extra 30 minutes. Oh, nice. I wanted to say this. This is what I this is what this is one thing I wanted to bring up just about this last thing about
[00:27:26] the crew game that we've talked about for years. And we saw an uptick when Cuccio came and then even a little more with Rossi. This year, our shots from outside the box have probably tripled. I don't I don't have like those numbers will have to look those up
[00:27:44] but our shots from outside box have tripled Jason Russell row Christian Ramirez, Aiden Morris Nagby doesn't shoot too much, but when he does it's usually from outside the box and Cuccio and Rossi all of them all of them taking lots of shots from outside the box, which is
[00:28:04] something that the crew was not known for even during the Caleb Porter years even when we won M less cup under him Zella Rayon was known for doing that and that's it that was the only person known for shooting from outside the box. Maybe Pedro Santos
[00:28:18] maybe give him a little bit of a shout out there for that but even after Lucas came not a lot of those this is a different style of play for us and this is the kind of play that I've wanted to see I've wanted to see shooters
[00:28:32] I want to see shooters because as Tim has made this phrase famous have a rip clean it up and that's what we are that's what we're finally doing and this has been exciting to watch if you look at the stats if you just
